Alius Dance School is excited to offer a Homeschool Dance Program. This program, focused on a technical classical ballet curriculum, is formulated with the homeschooler in mind. Our classes provide educational enrichment in the art of dance and physical education.
Curriculum: The classes are based on classical ballet methodology. The dancers participate two to three times a week for 1 to 2 hours each day in ballet technique, conditioning, and ballet theory and history. The students will have occasional research homework, quarterly assessments and a final evaluation class to demonstrate what has been learned through the school year.
Ages: 9 & up. Groups are separated by ballet technique level not by age.
Schedule: Daytime classes meet 2 to 3 times per week for about 1-2 hours each day. Refer to our current schedule.
* All homeschool students are encouraged to join our evening classes to experience a variety of dance styles such as jazz, tap, contemporary, flamenco, and hip-hop.
